Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge in the Kimberley.

Mt Hart is located in the heart of the King Leopold Range Conservation Park, on Western Australia's spectacular Gibb River Road.

Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge is the ideal base for exploring the stunning outback gorges country of the West Kimberley.Surrounded by dazzling geological features, breathtaking scenery, abundant wildlife, and rare flora and fauna (including friendly resident dingoes).

Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge is a ten acre oasis of beautiful lush tropical gardens situated alongside the splendid Barker River. Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge offers relaxing, and elegant boutique outback accommodation in two traditional 'Kimberley-style' heritage homesteads, as well as some camping facilities.

Where is Mount Hart?

You can swim and fish in the fresh water Barker River (at the bottom of the garden), then meander through eight acres of tropical heritage gardens, paddle the canoe past pandanus lined waterways.

Or simply relax in a hammock taking it easy under the giant bamboo or a dappled mango tree.

At Mt Hart you can take a picnic lunch to one of the numerous secluded picnic spots in the out-of-the-way gorges and waterholes, go on a self-guided bush walk across stunning valleys crossing and through spectacular ranges.

Take a wander through Mt Hart's remarkable old cattle yards and explore the remnants of the original homestead. In the late afternoon, you can watch an extravagant360 degree panoramic sunset whilst enjoying a delicious champagne and cheese hamper from the top of 'sunset hill' Mt Hart is also a photographer's pleasure, as well as an excellent location for painting and bird watching.

You can even play with the tame dingoes.

Give it a go, they really are friendly.

You could be forgiven if you thought a place like Mt Hart, so way, way out there in the middle of nowhere would not be able to provide fine dining, but such isnot the case as they can and will serve you very good and indeed tasty meals.

Dinner and breakfast are provided as part of the homestead accommodation package, and a buffet, picnic or lunch is also included if guests stay more than one night.

They pride themselves on serving tasty, "modern Australian" cuisine  with middle-Eastern, Mediterranean and Asian influences, using fresh, seasonal produce, with an imaginative use of herbs and spices.

Their "Three Dingoes Hotel" is fully licensed and stocks an excellent range of mainly Western Australian wines. Please note: Mt Hart is remote and supplies are only flown in weekly, but they are able to accommodate most dietary requests, but do appreciate as much notice as possible.
