One of these awesome Perth day trips is a mere 1 hour drive to the hills area where you will see and experience the magnificent trees, rock formations and water falls at
John Forrest National Park
A beautiful area well worth the short drive.
The photo on the right is a very pleasant spot where my family and our friends held a picnic on a number of occasions.
This area is quite small but large enough for the ten of us.
Or, if you prefer something a little more up beat then when lunch time arrives check the local hotel out and dine in wonderful indoor or outdoor majesty, eating good food and perhaps interacting with the native fauna just like we have done on several occasions.
John Forrest Park is just a few miles east of Perth and you can take a walk in the forest and then enjoy a well earned, beautifully cooked meal at the tavern.
This really is a very nice 1 day trip from Perth for all the family. The tracks are easy walking and very scenic. The creek is a view that all who go there love.
And talking of a walk in the bush, something really close to Perth's CBD is Kings Park.

Perth's Beautiful Kings Park
and enjoy a picnic and a stroll.
Kings Park is a botanical wonderland where you can wander around and almost imagine yourself in the real Aussie bush anywhere in Australia.
You will find during your wandering, wild scrub, grassy areas just perfect for a picnic and a glass of nice wine or two, Kimberley scenes, tumbling streams, lovely water falls and fantastic outlooks over Perth water to the city of Perth.
You can easily spend a day at the park and still only see and experience part of it.

Hi Chris, Just a short note to say that your site is great. Different to the type that just offers you impersonal info on anything and everything that can be jammed onto a page. So refreshing to read stories of walks, sights and adventures that can be easily imagined and perhaps personally enjoyed in the not too distant future. What I like is the feeling that this is a work in progress and that you will have more and more exciting things to pass on,I look forward to reading what your next adventures are. Keep up the great work. From your East Coast neighbour and new found friend. Marylyn
