Beach-waterside-picnics and Coastal Picnic Escapes,

There is nothing like beach-waterside-picnics for total family enjoyment.

Sorrento Beach

Location: West Coast Hwy, Sorrento. Left of the Hillarys Boat Harbour for beach waterside picnics

Relax by the beach, go for a swim, spread a blanket on the grass and soak up the salt, sand and sea of this newly renovated beach side parkland.

You can even walk to the Hillarys Boat Harbour from here and spend the afternoon shopping, sightseeing or relaxing in a cafe.

Cottesloe Beach

Location: Marine Parade, Cottesloe.

Cottesloe is one of Perth's most popular beaches and attracts thousands of people looking to cool off from the hot summer heat.

There are pine trees providing welcome shade from the sun and grassy areas to relax in. Public toilets, changing facilities and showers are available.

Stay into the early evening and watch the sky light up with colour as the sun sinks into the Indian Ocean.

Scarborough for your family picnic.

Scarborough beach is an ideal place to enjoy your one of your coastal picnic escapes, lay or sit on the grass and play games with your kids and then have a yummy BBQ or picnic and whilst there enjoy some time on one of the world's best beaches, swimming, surfing or eyeballing the lovely girls and guys.

All in all a great spot for a picnic, a swim or whatever your heart desires.

Tom Simpson Park

Location: Oceanside Promenade, Mullaloo.

This public open space is situated right next to the beach, and has toilet and parking facilities, a basketball hoop, barbeques, picnic tables, gazebos and benches, bike racks, showers, drinking fountains, play equipment, public telephone, shade structures, lighting and a dual use path.

Carine Regional Open Space

Location: Beach Road, Carine

With sports fields and walking trails surrounding two lakes this reserve caters for many members of the community. Facilities include toilets, shelters, drinking fountains, barbeques and a skate park.

Mandurah Foreshore

Location: Mandurah Road, Mandurah. One hour south of Perth citySpend the day relaxing on the green lawns running along the estuary edge.

The foreshore is ideal for family outings, with children's play areas, wood barbeques, picnic shelters, tables, conveniences and change rooms. Friendly pelicans wander along the paths and playful dolphins frolic in the waters of the Estuary.

Rockingham Foreshore

Location: Rockingham Road, Rockingham. 35 minutes south of Perth city

Stretching approximately 4 to 5 kilometres along the Rockingham coastline, directly across from calm and safe beaches you will find well manicured, shady, grassy lawns with free electric bbq's and great children's playgrounds.

Perry Lakes Reserve

Location: Perry Lakes Drive, Floreat. 10 minutes west of Perth CBD

Natural bushland, lovely wet lands, grassy areas and plenty of shady trees, BBQ facilities, picnic tables, great walking paths and lights for night time access.

Located nearby is Bold Park and the lookout at Reabold Hill, the highest natural point along the coast.

Matilda Bay

Location: Hackett Drive, Nedlands. 5 minutes from Perth along the Swan River

The stunning back drop of the Swan River, combined with sheltered nature of the Matilda Bay Reserve, make it a very popular site for picnics.

Sheltered grassed areas, BBQ facilities, boat ramps, children’s play areas and safe river beaches make it a beautiful setting.

Point Walter

Location: Point Walter Road, Bicton. 15 minutes drive from Perth city.

Amazing views of Perth and the Swan River and plenty of trees providing shade from the sun as well as safe swimming and excellent fishing. Public barbeque facilities are available as well as a cafe and kiosk.

Next door to Point Walter is the Blackwall Reach Reserve, a picturesque area of natural bush ideal for cyclists and walkers. Nearby is a sandbar that snakes out into the river and provides a great walk.

South Perth Foreshore

Location: Mill Point Road, South Perth

With the magnificent Swan River and Perth skyline as its backdrop, the South Perth foreshore is a popular picnic destination. Great pathways around the river, children's play areas, BBQ’s, shady trees, extensive grassed areas and nearby local shops and restaurants.
