One hour south of Perth citySpend the day relaxing on the green lawns running along the estuary edge. Friendly pelicans wander along the paths and playful dolphins frolic in the waters of the Estuary. Perry Lakes Reserve Location: Perry Lakes Drive, Floreat. 10 minutes west of Perth CBD Natural bushland, lovely wet lands, grassy areas and plenty of shady trees, BBQ facilities, picnic tables, great walking paths and lights for night time access. Located nearby is Bold Park and the lookout at Reabold Hill, the highest natural point along the coast. Matilda Bay Location: Hackett Drive, Nedlands. 5 minutes from Perth along the Swan River The stunning back drop of the Swan River, combined with sheltered nature of the Matilda Bay Reserve, make it a very popular site for picnics. Sheltered grassed areas, BBQ facilities, boat ramps, children’s play areas and safe river beaches make it a beautiful setting. Point Walter Location: Point Walter Road, Bicton. 15 minutes drive from Perth city. Next door to Point Walter is the Blackwall Reach Reserve, a picturesque area of natural bush ideal for cyclists and walkers.
