Cervantes is the southern gateway to Australia's Coral Coast Region

This is a particularly exciting attraction during the Rock Lobster fishing season (mid November to end of June). The town of Cervantes thrives on the multi-million dollar rock lobster industry. Visitors can enjoy the incredible marine life found in the waters off the coast and have the opportunity to interact with sea lions, enjoy swimming, snorkeling, fishing and exploring the offshore reefs and islands in the area. Marvel at the massive turbines of the Wind FarmYou should Check out the Emu Downs Wind Farm. This newly completed wind farm provides a fantastic spectaclewith its 48 massive turbines extending almost 120m in the air when the blades are at their highest point. View the turbines from the car park on Bibby Road just 30km east of Cervantes. For different views again, scale the Molar Hill Lookout. Situated half way between Cervantes and Jurien Bay, Molar Hill Lookout provides sweeping views of the ocean, Cervantes and Jurien Bay. While you are there pay a visit lake Thetis and the stromatolites. This site, walking distance at just 2 kms south east of Cervantes, is one of only five in Western Australia which feature Stromatolites. These natural features grow in the lake and are made up of the oldest known organisms on earth. Some fossil remains have been dated as old as 3.6 billion years! The lake itself was named after the sailing ship Thetis which surveyed the coast between 1847 and 1848.
