Nannup Music Festival, Nannup 26th Feb - 1st March

This lovely music festival is set in the beautiful Jarra forest by the Blackwood River and celebrates absolutely fabulous folk music, poetry, dance and street theatre, The event attracts over 200 local and international artists who will perform over 6 venues. The Nannup Music Festival is a really special event.

Karri Cup Mountain Bike Challenge, Northcliffe 27th Feb - 1st March

Said to be one of WA's largest and longest running mountain bike events and it and is held in Karri forest near Northcliffe in the South West.

Riders can choose between the 100km endurance challenge or the equally challenging, but no less scenic, 50km ride.

Margaret River CowParade 1st March - 30th June Margaret River

100 rather talented artists will convert life sized fibreglass cows into 'moo'ving' pieces of art for this world famous event.

Sculpture by the Sea 4th - 23rd March Cottesloe Beach

The sculpture by the sea is a large, free to the public annual sculpture exhibition set on Perth's beautiful Cottesloe Beach.The event features over 60 local, national and internationally acclaimed artists.

Channel 7 Crab Fest Mandurah 6th - 7th March

The event is held on the Mandurah foreshore, this 2 day happing features live cooking demonstrations,family style entertainment,

Drug Aware Margaret River Pro Surf Event 5th - 21 March Surfers Point

Albany Motor Classic 5th - 7th June, Albany

Avon Descent 7th - 8th August, Northam

The Avon Descent is Western Australia's own unique sporting event. This white water race is notbettered by any like event in the world.The event attracts participants from across Australia and overseas.

The Australian Safari is coming again in 2010

Australia’s toughest motor sport challenge, the Australasian Safari, will start in the Perth again next year, 2010 with a new course, new vehicle and competitor categories, as well as heavily discounted Early bird entry fees.

The week-long endurance event for cars, motorbikes and quad bikes will start in the Western Australian capital for the first time on August 1, with another innovative route that will build on the outstanding success of the 2008 event.

The course for the 2009 Safari was applauded as one of the best in the event’s long history, and according to event director, Justin Hunt, things will only get better in 2010.

The anticipated record field will face a gruelling 3700 competitive kilometres across the rugged Western Australia outback during the seven day event.

Just getting to the finish line will be a significant achievement.

Competitors from all over the World will ensure that the competition is hot and a spot on the podium is much sought after by all competitors.

Victory in each of the three key competition categories – car, motorbike and quad bike - will rightly be savoured, and the winners revered.

There is a total of approximately 4300kms of the roughest country in Australia to be traveled by the competitors

The Western Australian wild flower season is over but will be back about August.

They also open in the South West of the state a little later than August You can easily take a day trip to Nannup or Pemberton where you will feast your eyes on the splendor of these wild flowers which are spread right across the South West of Western Australia.

The wild flower season ends about November/December.

The Margaret surf classic

The Red Bull Air Race will return in November 2010.

These dare devil pilots in their high performance planes will amaze you with their spectacular and dangerous stunt flyingin the skies above the Swan river near the Perth city foreshore.

The 2010 event will run over two days with qualifying taking place on Saturday 1 November and the deciding Race Day on Sunday 2 November. Bull Air Race 2010 promises more nail biting racing action as the pilots face off in the deciding round of the World Series competition.
