The Kimberley. Natures Wonderland.

A place that's all things, for all people.

It is the World's last great frontier wilderness.

The Kimberley. Where you can enjoy all the adventure travel that you can take or just have a relaxed holiday in what is a very real paradise on earth.

The North West area where this town is situated is a vast extravaganza filled with some of the most compelling scenery that unless seen, will defy the imagination in it's scope and wilderness beauty

You could for instance, fit England, Wales, Scotland, Texas and Malaysia into the region and still have room to spare.

From Broome in the south to Kununurra and Wyndham in the north you will experience some wonderful Kimberley adventures and see plenty of mind numbing scenery both on land and on the sea.

As I Wander around here in this, the most amazing place that I have ever seen and pause, to think about all this splendor here in the North West.
I realize just how lucky I am to be here now, and now you too can explore the rocky red gorges, fish in the beautiful rivers, wander though the forests and meet the friendly people of our north west region in both the "Wet" season and the "Dry".

Western Australia Time

A Beautiful Kimberley Sunset

Western Australia Kimberley Sunset And you should see the pockets of tropical rain forest, of which there are plenty, and they are incredibly beautiful, a paradise on earth.

There are many camping areas in the Kimberley area of the Australian outback where you will see and experience many of the mind-blowing Australian animals in their native habitat.

As an "Aussie" I love this my gorgeous, astonishing land and the North West in particular. My passion is to share my experiences and love of this amazing wilderness country with you. So come on over here and experience some of our Kimberley adventures, you will love it.

Adventure travel and adventure tours are part and parcel of the area and many are available for the holiday maker.

The Major Towns and destinations of our North West are.

Broome wonderful Broome.

  • Broome
  • Broome is full of fascinating events and wonderful tours, outback adventures and great accommodation to suit all budgets and interests.

While you are visiting Broome I suggest that you consider a side trip or a stay at Cape Leveque just north of Broome.

It is a lovely area with plenty to see and do at this beautiful place.

Cape Leveque is right on the coast

At Cape Leveque on the Coast of Western AustraliaThe World famous "Horizontal Waterfalls" can be seen on a flight out of Cape Leveque.

You will also enjoy the pristine beaches and spectacular landscape that the Cape has to offer. They have superb accommodation and many things to see and do at the Cape.

    Kununurra

  • Kununurra in the Kimberley
  • Kununurra is the ideal place to base yourself for exploring the wonders of the East Kimberley.

You will find Kununurra to be very friendly and welcoming and the locals are relaxed and only too pleased to help visitors.Kununurra is surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Kimberley region.

    Mitchell Falls, an astonishing world

  • Mitchell Falls and the Mitchell Plateau
  • Here you can see astonishing landscapes including the Mitchell Plateau and the spectacular and brilliant Mitchell Falls.

In full flood, the Falls are a staggering sight.
The Mitchell Plateau abounds in wildlife and plants and bird life.Mitchell Falls are about a 16 hour drive from Kununurra along the rather rough Gibb River Road. It's 4wd only for this road which is usually closed during the "WET" season.

Wyndham just north of Kununurra in The Kimberley

  • Wyndham
  • Wyndham was originally a small service town for Australia's north west that has since become one of the most remote scenic wonders of the Kimberley.

Saltwater crocodiles can be found in the estuaries surrounding Wyndham so swimming there will see you become crocodile food so stay out of the water.

But all is not lost. Ask the locals where to go to have a swim, take note of the no swimming signs at water holes, creeks and rivers.

The Bungle Bungles a hidden world

  • Bugle Bungles
  • The Bungle, Bungles are full of glorious gorges featuring beautiful pools, spectacular caves and much rock art by the Aboriginal people.

A tour of these ranges in Purnululu National Park is an experience not to be missed. Nowhere else in the world will you see ancient rock formations quite like this!

    Home Valley Station Resort

  • Home Valley Station Resort
  • Home Valley Station is an outback adventurers playing field At Home Valley Station you will find a host of Australia's unsurpassed fishing locations which makes it great for hooking the ever elusive Barramundi,
one of the world's great fighting fish.

Home Valley's Dusty Bar & Grill will feed you well, keeping you happy and very contented.

    Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge

  • Mount Hart
  • Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge is the ideal base for exploring the stunning outback gorges country of the Western part of this amazing land.

You can swim and fish in the fresh water Barker River.
Or simply relax in a hammock.

Dinner and breakfast are provided as part of the homesteads accommodation.

You will see plenty of these at the right time of year.

Kimberley wildflowersThe North West is without a doubt, the best holiday destination in Australia with its wide open grass plains, spectacular rocky mountains and lovely tree covered hills along with world class fishing in the Indian ocean and the Ord river. The fishing on the Ord is one of the Kimberley Adventures that you should not miss. Ever caught a "Barra"?
You havn't lived until you have fought and landed one of these fierce fighters.

Wherever you go in the Kimberley you will find great accommodation from 5 ***** hotels and resorts to backpacker style establishments, where you'll be able to relax, put your head down for the night or indeed have a beautiful meal at the many wonderful places to dine, sit back, watch the amazing sunsets and enjoy some very fine food after a days adventure in the Kimberly.

Kimberley. Kangaroo, a possible road hazard There is a hazard that you should be aware of, and that is that when driving at either dawn or at sunset these guys are around and they are likely to cross the road unexpectedly at any moment.

Not only the kangaroos but also cattle, horses, buffalo and emus are around in numbers at that time. I assume that you would rather that, you and your family and car arrived safely at your destinations instead of becoming a wreck and injured or worse on the side of the road.

So what can you do to avoid this happening to you?

It's quite simple really, slow down to about 50kms an hour at dawn and dusk. Do try not to drive in the darker hours and if you must, keep alert and your eyes peeled and stay SAFE

Kimberley road hazard sign You will come across many of these as you journey throughout the Australian outback and they are not put up for fun, they are an official road hazard sign so please take note and apply the correct driving principle and arrive happy and healthy at your destination, I beg of you.

The Kimberley is a land of extremes throughout the entire year from the temperate dry season with its magnificent blue skies and cool nights and onto the dramatic wet, when everything in the country comes alive.

Plants grow, trees flower and the land looks and smells refreshed as the ancient soil absorbs the down pouring rain. Regarded as Australia's last frontier, traveling the Kimberley is an exciting adventure that with the right planning will ensure that you and your family enjoy a safe and wonderful holiday

There are two major centers you can base yourself at to explore the Kimberley's and they are Broome beautiful Broome Is in the south of the this beautiful, scenic area and it is the gateway to the southern half of this, the most beautiful region in Australia.

Or you can use Kununurra as your base to explore the Northern half which would be my own personal choice as a base as it is close to all the best destinations up North in The Kimberley.
