Scuba Diving in Western Australia

Scuba diving is one of the greatest recreational sports all around the world and is loved by millions.

Scuba diving in Western Australia is an adventure that many people would love to experience and Western Australia dive sites are unsurpassed by very few dive sites around the world.

With a coastline extending over 11,000 km's Western Australia's diversity of scuba diving sites is astonishing and ranges from the temperate zone down South of Perth to the tropical areas in the North.

And Australia itself is doubly unique. With over 35,000km's of magnificent coastline, we have superb diving in the tropical waters of the world renowned Great Barrier Reef and in North of Western Australia.

Western Australia has a great number of excellent and varied dive locations, as would be expected of a coastline more than one-third the total of Australia. It is the only Australian state that covers both tropical and temperate waters with their respective marine life species.

A little known fact

It is not widely known that Western Australia possesses some of the best reef and wreck diving in the whole country, including two deliberately sunk Australian Navy frigates (HMAS Swan and HMAS Perth) in the South of the state, and incredible reef diving in the North of the state which rivals and even beats that of the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland.Naturally enough you can enjoy diving in rivers, lakes, caves as well as the ocean.

Did you know? The word 'Scuba' is the abbreviation of Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus.

The variety of landscapes and the climate in Western Australia means there is always plenty of sunshine, endless blue skies and stunning white sandy beaches making it a perfect year-round destination.
